To GOD be all the glory!!!

Apex Legends Season 6 - Boosted was released on the 18th of August, 2020.

This season is not only unique for the newly released legend, Rampart, but also for all the other changes Respawn Entertainment decided to make.

The new legend is indeed Rampart, her real name is Ramya Parekh, she is a 21-year-old British Indian.

In the 'Stories from the Outlands - "The Endorsement" video that was released on the official Apex Legends YouTube channel, we can tell that she owns her own modding shop, and she probably knows Bangalore and Gibraltar very well.

Also from the video, we can see that there were some weapons displayed on a wall in her modding shop and one of the weapons that were displayed seems to be the newly added weapon "Volt".

In the Apex games, Rampart is a hardware specialist and her abilities showcase this fact.

Rampart was invited to participate in the Apex games after she fought with some people who came to her modding shop, the people however seemed to be henchmen of someone called "Big Sista" who may be another legend coming to the Apex games.

Rampart's Abilities

Passive
Modded Loader: Rampart has a larger mag capacity when she is using Light Machine Guns and the Minigun.

She also has faster reload times when she uses these guns, and has more shots before over heating on the L-Star, which has an improved cooling capacity.

Tactical
Amped Cover: She deploys a wall that blocks incoming shots and amps outgoing shots. This wall however, can be destroyed by the damage caused by incoming shots.

You can only place 5 amped covers at a time.

Ultimate
Emplaced Minigun "Sheila": She can strategically place mounted miniguns called called Sheila.

The miniguns can be used by anyone and they have a high ammo capacity, with long reload times. She can only place 3 of the minguns at a time.

You could watch a gameplay montage of Rampart to get a better idea of how she plays the Apex games.

Apart from Rampart, Respawn Entertainment also made some other interesting changes and additions to the game.

Here are some of the changes that we consider the most interesting:

Map Changes

World's Edge has received another update, Hammond Robotics has made some changes to the Drill Site, The Dome as well as adding a whole rocket to the map.

The loot filled train that goes around World's Edge has been stopped and dismantled.

Its fragments have been scattered across the train track in World's Edge.

The train still has loot in it, but its rail cars have been scattered throughout the caves in World's Edge where players may not usually visit if the train does not go there.

We believe that the one of the aims of this change is so that more areas of the map are relevant and players visit them more often.

The Volt

The Volt SMG is the first energy-based SMG in the Apex games, it uses energy ammo instead of light ammo and can be used to hit multiple targets within a relatively short duration.

Armor Changes

Armor and body shields have received some particularly interesting changes this season, which may really change how the Apex games are played.

First of all, all players spawn with level 0 Evo Armor.

If you deal a lot of damage near the beginning of the game, you could level up to White Armor, and then all the way up to Red Armor.

All the Armor in the game is now Evo Armor (Except Gold Armor).

You can still find Purple, White and Blue armor as loot, but they will be pre-leveled Evo Armor.

Red Armor does not spawn as loot, but is achieved by leveling up Evo Armor. Purple and Gold Armor now give 175 health instead of 200, while Red Armor now gives you 200 instead of 225.
- White now takes 50 damage
- Blue take 125 damage
- Purple and Gold take 250 damage
- Red takes 500 damage

Crafting

Materials are earned from loot bins and material stations, which can then be used to craft eight different kinds of loot, which may change on a weekly or daily basis.

Materials can be taken to replicators to craft out loot, the different loot may cost different numbers of materials to craft, you can check the game mode selector or map screen to see what loot is craftable.

Holo Sprays

Emoting by placing down legend specific calling cards from the emote wheel, which can be used to taunt enemies.

Quest

Season 5's quests with illustrated comics and colour.

Use Treasure Packs to earn Crafting Metals, Challenge Points, Apex Packs and Gun Charms.

Recon Character Changes

Every recon character can now use the Survey Beacon to get the location of the next ring with about a 4s load time.

Crypto can use his drone to get this information instantly.

Pathfinder

Tactical: Every time Pathfinder uses a Survey Beacon, the cooldown of his Zipline Gun is reduced by 10s.

Bloodhound

Beast of The Hunt gets an extension in duration every time Bloodhound gets a knockdown or kill and his Ultimate is about to end.

Eye of the Allfather comes out twice as fast with a use time of 0.8s and has a shorter cooldown of 6s when used during the Beast Of The Hunt.

Crypto

Crypto's drone can now activate Respawn Beacons.

Crypto's drone can also activate Survey Beacons instantly (no use time).

Finally, Crypto's drone has an increased health (from 30HP to 60HP) and now it can be hit more consistently,. Its hitbox is now a cube of length 24 (from a cube of length 16).

Revenant

As a result of some plays involving players getting right back into a fight after being respawned by  Revenant's death totem - with a Dimensional Rift, Respawn Entertainment decided that players would not be able to use Dimensional Rifts for 2s after being recalled by a Death Totem.

Octane

Stim can now be used while healing but will not reduce the slow effect gotten from healing.

Loba

The cooldown of Loba's Black Market has been reduced from 3min to 90s.

Gibraltar

The cooldown of his defensive bombardment has been increased from 3 minutes to 4.5 minutes.

Bangalore

The cooldown of Bangalore's ultimate ability has been decreased from 4.5 minutes to 3 minutes.

Wraith

The cooldown of Wraith's ultimate ability has been increased from 2.5 minutes to 3.5 minutes.

Wattson

Wattson's Interception Pylon will now shoot down Caustic's barrels while they are in flight, if they are to land within the Pylon's range.

Loot

The turbocharger and extended energy mags have been added to the loot pool, and the precision choke has been removed from the loot pool.

The precision choke is now built into the Triple Take and the Peace Keeper.

The Devotion is no more found in Supply Drops, but is now ground loot.

The R-99 is now in Supply Drops, its damage has been increased from 11 to 12, its mag capacity is now 32 and its ammo reserve is reduced to 160.

The Fully Kitted DMR, Hemlok, Spitfire, EVA-8 and RE-45 have been removed and the Fully Kitted Devotion, Mastiff, Triple Take, Flatline and Volt have been added.

The Sniper ammo pick up has been increased from 8 to 12, and its Stack size has been increased from 16 to 24.

Energy ammo pick up has been reduced from 30 to 20.

Weapons from Supply Drops are now Heirloom red while Fully Kitted Weapons remain gold.
