The official release date of the Xbox Series S is going to be November 10, 2020.  This could also be the release date for the Xbox Series X. Since the Xbox Series S supposedly has the same CPU as the Xbox Series X (Microsoft's major next gen console), a price of $299 is not that outrageous. Although not all the specs of the Xbox Series S have been officially released, the Xbox Series S should support 120fps at 1440p and have ray tracing plus a 512GB SSD . Having 512GB on a console in this generation may not be very effective, as games of nowadays usually take up about a 100GB of space. There is no disc drive on the Xbox Series S, so it will probably have a removable storage port like the Xbox Series X. Two other code names, 'Edinburgh' and 'Count' have been seen in the code of the latest Game Development Kit from Microsoft as tweeted by @bllyhlbrt, whose twitter bio says that he is a software developer, reverse engineer and occasional game programmer. The tweet also makes some references to the 'Xbox Lockhart' which is the supposed codename of the Xbox Series S (rumoured to be a cheaper version of the Xbox Series X).
