To GOD be all the glory!!!

This is the official Playstation 5 controller or as it is called, The DualSense.

It is a real beauty and gives us a kind of idea of what the actual Playstation 5 console may look like.

As we can see from the above picture, the controller's main color is white with some touches of black which is different from the previous Playstation controllers, the DualShocks, which are usually all black, and have been with us for a while now.

The lightbar is no more at the front of the controller but is at each side of the touchpad producing an added effect.

Its first official picture was released on the Playstation blog and since then, many fans that are graphical artists have made their own concepts of what they portray the DualSense as.

Love the look of the Dualsense, so I make some quick custom ideas ...

Apart from the aesthetics of the controller, it also features updates such as hardware and software enhancements, which will most likely take gaming to a whole new level.

Touch was a big inspiration in designing the next gen controller and haptic feedback is one of the ways that the DualSense will bring Ps5 games to life.

Sony explained more on what the haptic feedback will do to the interactivity of Ps5 games as Senior Vice President, Hideaki Nishino, said it will add a variety of powerful sensations you'll feel when you play, such as the slow grittiness of driving a car through mud.

Adaptive triggers have also been added to the L2 and R2 buttons and their angles have been slightly altered.

Adaptive triggers will basically increase the difficulty of pushing the buttons based on the situation found in the game.

Sony said that these adaptive triggers will help players, feel the tension of their actions, like when drawing a bow to shoot an arrow.

There is also an in-built microphone on this controller, which is a major improvement in the controller series.

This in-built microphone will allow gamers to easily communicate with themselves even if they do not own a proper headset.

Although this is a very good feature to have on the DualSense, Hideaki Nishino does warn that if you are planning to chat for a longer period, it's good to have that headset handy.

Fitting all these features into a single controller must have been hard for Sony's design team.

The hardware team must have worked hard to not only produce the controller at the appropriate size, but to also, some how produce it lighter.

The DualSense also has a longer lasting rechargeable battery, so as to accommodate long gaming sessions.

Slight updates have been made to the grip to make it more comfortable for a wider array of gamers with different hand sizes.

This has already been tested because Sony has given a prototype of the controller to several gamers of different hand sizes.

The Share button that was previously on the DualShock series, has now been scrapped for a new Create button which was previewed in the picture.

Although Sony has not said much about this new button, but it most likely should have an increased functionality when compared to the previous Share button, meaning that we may be able to edit, trim and do much more to our videos quicker, so as to return to our games faster.

The rest of the controller is pretty similar to the DualShock 4, we still have the square, x, triangle, circle and the Playstation buttons.

Nishino really emphasized on what the DualSense should do to gaming, he said,
"Our goal with the DualSense is to give gamers the feeling of being transported into the gaming world as soon as they open the box. We want gamers to feel like the controller is an extension of themselves when they're playing - so much so that they forget that it's even in their hands!"

Microsoft has already published a picture of the Xbox Series X as well as its controller which still seems to have the original Share button.

We are still awaiting an official picture of the Playstation 5 and we hope it lives up to the hype.
