To GOD be all the glory!!!

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the next game in the Ratchet & Clank franchise and takes place after the events of Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus.

The game features the return of the two main characters Ratchet and Clank, with Ratchet being the main playable character of the game and Clank being Ratchet's support.

Although the game is to be released on the 11th of June 2021, information released by Insomniac (the developers of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart) and PlayStation reveals some parts of the game's storyline as well as how it implements the features of the PlayStation 5.

The main villain of the game is Dr. Nefarious whose main aim is to exterminate all organic life in the universe.

He built the Dimensionator to help him do this, but the machine ended up getting damaged by Ratchet which then leads up to the main plot of the game.

Reality becomes somewhat unstable, and it is up to Ratchet and Clank with some assistance from their allies, to stabilize reality and thwart Dr. Nefarious.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is also the first game in the Ratchet & Clank series to introduce near instantaneous travel between different planets, areas and dimensions.

It does this by taking advantage of the Ps5's powerful graphics engine and processor.

Other features of the Ps5 such as the new SSD and the DualSense's Adaptive triggers allow for a more immersive gaming experience as well as a wider array of villains and game entities.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart features the return of planets explored in the previous games as well as their inter-dimensional counterparts and new planets altogether.

A new playable character, a female Lombax (The alien species that Ratchet belongs to), has also been seen in the game's gameplay trailer.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will only be available on the PlayStation 5 and in an interview with Famitsu (a line of Japanese video game magazines published by Kadokawa Game Linkage), Insomniac Games confirmed that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will support HDR, a 4K-resolution mode running at 30 frames per second and a "performance mode" running at 60 frames per second.
